Photo WorkshopsRich started his art career as a public school art teacher. As a professional photographer and board member of the New Jersey Chapter of The American Society of Media Photographers, he ran many seminars and workshops. These workshops were designed to keep photographers up to speed on the ever changing technologies of our photo business. Rich continues to teach student interns while running a professional commercial photography studio with a diversified client base.
Rich has taught at: Kean University, Union, NJ as Adjunct Professor for advanced classes in photography. Horizon Creative Workshops, Chesapeake City, Maryland, teaching studio lighting. The Newark Museum, Newark, NJ, Lighting techniques and photographing your art classes. Union County College, Cranford, NJ, Adjunct Professor for classes in Classic Black and White Photography. This is a traditional film based class teaching all developing and printing Black and White skills as well as teaching all the basics from F-stops and metering to composition and concept. Morris County School of Technology, Denville, NJ, Fundamentals of Great Photography is an adult school class that teaches students how to create better images. All the fundamentals are covered from lighting to composition. Barrett School of Art, Poughkeepsie, NY, Photographing Your Art Workshop is design to teach artists how to photograph their work in a professional manor. These workshops are by the hour, half day and full day. This instruction is designed to train amateurs and aspiring pros to sharpen their skills in concept design, lighting and camera techniques. With one on one teaching you waste no time and leave with a wealth of knowledge and information. Rich Russo Photography mini workshops are designed for small groups (3-6 students) with a common interest. These workshops are 1/2 day classes that cover a variety of topics from people/portrait, fashion/glamour, product/still life, studio lighting skills and location shoots that cover basic to advanced shooting techniques. The workshops will give you a better understanding of the visual dialog that we use as artists, from creating a concept to feeling the lighting.
